Kendo - The Way of the Sword
Evolving from the traditional Samurai swordsmanship of Feudal Japan. We are offering you the opportunity to discover another culture based on Medieval Japanese traditions and has been influences by Zen ideas. Learn to manipulate a shinai (or bamboo sword) in real strikes against other people as well as non-contact traditional training by way of Kata or forms. General techniques of attack and defence practiced and armour is worn for more advanced training and for sparring and competition.
Ages from 8 to 80, both boys and girls, are all welcome!
No prior experience required ... ... Enrol if you dear!

Beginner Class A: 10/17 March - 7 July (18 lessons)
Beginner Class B: 14/21 July - 3 November (18 lessons)
Time: Satursday, 1.30 - 3.00pm
Venue: SOE Gym, Gate 4, Hillcrest Road, Hamilton
Fees: 200.00 NZD (including equipment rentals)
